In scientific terms, slime is classified as a fluid. These are thick liquids that have a varying viscosity. For instance, water is a thin liquid with a viscosity. Non-Newtonian fluids, such as slime, have another viscosity dependent on the total amount of force put on them. If a small amount of force is used, like stirring them slowly with your fingers, they feel thin and water-like. If a top force is put on, like throwing it against a wall, then the resistance is very powerful. They are known as non-Newtonian fluids since they don’t behave as predicted by Newton’s laws. Other substances that also behave like this include ketchup, gelatin, glue, and quicksand.

The history of toy slime’s production dates back to the inception of the twentieth century when synthetic polymers science had been ascertained. Put equal parts glue and toothpaste at a mixing bowl and stir fry. Add adhesive or toothpaste if needed
Slowly add in half a pinch of salt at one time. The salt makes solutions dryer, which makes it less sticky. WARNING if you add too much salt, it will go make into the original paste
If it’s still a little sticky, pop it in the refrigerator (not freezer) For 5–10 minutes
