How to obtain a Driver’s license in Nigeria
Hi everyone, my name is Yemi Kuti and I’m here to discuss with you the steps to undergo to obtain a driver’s license. If you already have your legitimate driver’s license, congratulations to you.
- Visual Test
If you don’t, consider this a step by step syllabus of what you can expect to face. The first test is the Vision Test: Your eyes will be tested by means of a mechanical device. The maximum vision is 20/60 in one eye and a field vision of about 140 degrees.
- Road Sign Test: Then next you’ll have to take the Road Sign Test: A set of questions based on the standard highway signs will be given to you. You will be asked to identify certain signs, signals and markers You must correctly answer 15 out of 20 to pass.
- The Road Rules Test are also very important: The road rules consists of a set of questions about the driver responsibility, the knowledge of laws, and also safe driving practices. This is applicable to the class of license for you are applying for. You must correctly answer 15 out of 20 questions in order to pass.
- Driving Test: The driving test will require that you do all or part of the following: i) Parallel Parking ii) Quick Stops iii) Backing iv) Stopping for signs and traffic signals v) Turning Around vi) Use of clutch vii) Approach to corners viii) Yielding to right of way ix) Turning x) Passing xi) Following xii) Posture. At the end of the test, the license examiner will gladly show you your score sheet and will provide you an opportunity to discuss the results if you wish to do so. The applicant must achieve a minimum score of 75 percent to pass.
